Perit Matthew James Mercieca

Matthew J. Mercieca is the founder and CEO of MJM|DA, a multidisciplinary architectural and engineering practice based in Malta. An architect by profession, he has spent over two decades designing projects that integrate architecture, engineering, interiors and project management through the practice’s philosophy of “Architecture as One.” His work has received national recognition, including the Kamra tal-Periti Premju Galizia Award and the Din l-Art Ħelwa Prix d’Honneur.

Beyond professional practice, Mercieca has a longstanding interest in the relationship between architecture, art, culture and human experience, exploring how the built environment shapes memory, identity and emotion. He also writes poetry, drawing on architecture, philosophy and lived experience to explore themes of time, place and the human condition.
